Five star deluxe is the top most gradation done by FHRA/ HRACC in India. I have heard lot of people saying that they have learnt about 7 star hotel. I have heard about 1 star to 5 star, but have never heard anyone talking about a 6 star hotel. Then, how is that a jump in star category? Is it reality? I have spoken to an official in HRACC and have learnt that it is a myth. There is no categorization of anything beyond 5 star deluxe as far as India is concerned. And, I believe that 7 star category is a myth which people like to associate with ultimate luxury offered by the top class hotels.

Hi Garvit,
There are no set standards for "luxury hotels," and both four-star and five-star hotels generally describe themselves as "luxury."
Hotel guests paying high luxury-hotel rates have a right to expect certain luxury hotel standards, in service, in rooms, in dining, and in everything else a good hotel offers.
Some Examples of luxury Hotels are:
-The trident Agra
-The Oberoi Amarvilas
-JW marriot
-Vivanta by Taj etc
