Little bit of general knowledge is essential. You should have an idea about famous contemporary works in world literature (and, classics of course), names of renowned literary geniuses and their works (not necessarily the year of publication), nominees and recipients of literary prizes for e.g. IMPAC Dublin, Nobel, Orange, Booker, etc. This is a sure shot 10-20 mark, I guess.
When it comes to the language itself, as long as you are good at compositions, you are fine. There will be essays to write and paragraphs to summarize. Try and improve your vocabulary and sentence construction a bit. My advice would be to watch a lot of movies and TV shows and YouTube videos. Try it with subtitles if you prefer.

IIT HSEE needs a proper direction and guidance. A serious commitment and dedicated hard work can ensure success to the exam. Below are the important pointers to keep in mind while preparing for the exam:
A- Understand marking scheme
B- Understand the format and pattern of the exam
C- There are two sections, a- Objective questions which includes Maths, Sociology, Geography, Economics, English, General Awareness, etc. and b- Subjective questions.
D- Proper time management and energy focus for right subjects for the exam.
E- As per the marking scheme there are no negative marks. So you might guess and mark in case you are not sure. But keep it as a last option. First, prepare for 100% and try to get everything right.
Last but not the least, keep calm and be tension free.

Hi, You must have successfully finished your Masters degree in engineering to be a professor at the Engineering College. Additionally, you can apply for faculty positions at any engineering university depending on availability if you have passed the SET or UGC NET (National Eligibility Test). Your working hours are brief, and you receive a competitive salary. Some University engineering professors are required to have a Ph.D. in engineering, which denotes that they have finished several years of graduate engineering education, passed one or more field tests in their area of expertise, and published on an engineering-related research topic.

Yes! It is absolutely possible to change the specialisation even after doing under-graduation from a particular stream. Universities allows but this transition generally degrade your value in the market. Suppose, you have done your under graduation in specialisation in Economics (Say, BA Economics), but now you want to change for Political Science (Say, MA Political Science), university will definitely allows this. Some university ask for particular entrance exam for PG and some may not. But this transition is possible. However, I'd not recommend to change in specialization because due to this change you lacks in "in-depth knowledge (or core knowledge)" of particular subject. Hence it is advisable to continue in your stream. According to me the best combination in UG-PG course is BA-MA in Economics (specially when it comes to Humanities section). The reason that why I am suggesting you this combination is, its market demand and future prospects. Currently, because of the ongoing economic activity in India, the need of economist is exponentially high and it is supposed to increase in near future as well. Hope this helps.

A tenured position in academia is vastly superior to a high school teaching job, although the pay might be worse. The hours, the schedule, the intellectual challenge, the students, etc. will all be better. However, you cannot choose to be a professor. You can go to graduate school, get a Ph.D, work constantly for 5-10 years in the process, publish a great deal, teach a lot (at the adjunct level, starting with your Master's degree), and still never get the tenure-track job. Only 29 percent of university and college teachers are on tenured or tenure track now, down from 40 percent ten years earlier. Jobs will typically have 200 applicants. Winners are usually those from the school with the best pedigree (grads of top 12 Gourmet Report schools generate 75% of profs at top fifty graduate schools in Phil), or the candidate with the best-known advisor, and then gender vastly skews the equation. But, don't forget that the interview trumps everything and, so the high school popularity contest will decide the winners among those chosen for interviews.

In India, candidates choose teaching field only when all the doors get closed but this is sad to say, when candidates choose this field by choice then he or she will surely get good jobs. To get into teaching field B.Ed has now become compulsory. One can get jobs in schools after doing this course and good salary as well.
But in order to get admission in any college of national importance in India then he/she must pursue Masters after the completion of Bachelors and then go for M.Ed, which means 4 years of studies will be worth a top college.After doing M.Ed candidates are eligible for CBSE UGC NET and through this exam one can get admission in top colleges as an assistant professor and get research work as a JR.
