The college has a reputation maintained for excellence in the course offered particularly for undergraduate courses. The placements are higher in almost every branch. For civil engineering branch, one can expect an average placement package of around Rs 4 Lacs considering the placement record in the year 2016. Also, the highest placement package obtained by a student of the batch 2017 in the civil department was Rs 17.5 Lacs by VGN which happened to take only 4 students from the whole batch. Sastra University is one of the best colleges which give good placement to their student on the basic of their academic record. Many companies such as AMAZON, PAYPAL, THOROGOOD, CISCO, MICROSOFT are paying between 11 LPA to 24 LPA to its students. All you need to crack Amazon or PayPal is skill in coding or programming with a minimum CGPA of 7.5.
Speaking of average package, we have a pot including ZOHO, GOFRUGAL, MU SIGMA, IBM, INAUTIX, FRESH DESK, TVS, HYUNDAI, HONEYWELL etc. which are giving a package between 4 LPA to 6 LPA.

As one of my friends is currently pursuing this course from NSIT, I think I can relate to this question much better.
MPAE is not a new branch, it was introduced a few years back. Well, the course is much similar to that of mechanical engineering but not completely same.
Competition for tech. jobs in this branch is very high as mechanical students also sit for the same companies. Competition is very tough in non-technical companies too because all branches are allowed to sit in these companies. MPAE is a great branch with ample of opportunities for every hardworking student.

Talking about the Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in Heritage Institute of Technology, the total students in this branch are about 60. Companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS ), Wipro, Infosys, etc., recruit students and that too in mass. The average placement is 3.75-4.00 LPA. Some CS students get placements for 8-10 LPA as well. One got a package of 22 LPA last year.

We have got average placements for chemical engineering department in VIT, Pune. Highest salary package was Rs 8 lakhs per annum last year (excluding IT companies).
