The batch of 2014-16 has grabbed a package of 39% higher up to 1 crore at the International level surpassing the previous year's package of 78 lakhs. While the domestic package saw a drop down by 5 lakhs to 48 lakh at the domestic level placement as per the data release by the placement cell of IIM-A.

St. Xavier's Kolkata is best known for its Commerce Department especially B.Com (Hons). The level of Maths and Statistics that is taught is not too high. It is taught considering all types of Students (good or average at Maths). The faculty is experienced and you can easily understand whatever is taught in class.
First year Maths and Stats can be a cakewalk for you, if you're quite good at basics of it. From second year, the level rises and you'll be required to learn new things. On an overall level, I can say, it is better than what is taught in other Commerce colleges. (Since, all the students are from Maths background).

There is no difference between ICWA and CMA. The Institute of Cost and Accounting, commonly known as ICMAI, was earlier known as the Institute of Cost and Work Accountant of India (ICWAI). The institute with the name ICWAI, offered the course terming it as ICWA. With change in the name of the institute to ICMAI, the course name has been changed to CMA.
